JACQUIN Jansen, experienced fullback of the Boland Cavaliers, is back in the side to face the Border Bulldogs in a SuperSport Rugby Challenge clash on Friday. Jansen missed the match against the EP Elephants in Montagu on Saturday due to a bout of flu. Randall Modiba (coach) has made two changes to the starting lineup that beat EP 40-37.

Jansen replaces Sergio Torrens who drops to the bench in place of Jaundre Joseph whilst Stephaan Grundling replaces Clinton Theron at tighthead prop. Former Cavalier, Thor Halvorsen (flank), makes his return after stints in Italy and with the SWD Eagles and has been selected on the reserves bench, along with Brandon Valentyn (Lock) who will be making his debut for Boland. Halvorsen currently plays for Boland club side Darling RFC, whilst Valentyn represented Maties during this year’s Varsity Cup competition.

Bolands most capped player, Clemen Lewis also returns and has been named amongst the reserves. Former Blitzbok, Rayno Benjamin, who has shown his versatility by playing at center and scrumhalf this season, will miss the trip to East London due to a stomach bug.
