Former Sharks flyhalf, Garth April, will be playing Super Rugby in the colours of the Bulls this year. A very reliable source has confirmed the news to fiekie7.co.za.
He is expected back in the country on Thursday after playing for NTT Communications Shining Arcs in the Japanese Top League. April will be joining up with Cornal Hendricks, who recently signed with the Pretoria-based franchise after a lengthy absence due to a heart condition. They both hail from Wellington in the Boland and came through the ranks at Roses United.
April (27) will be fighting for a spot at flyhalf with Springbok incumbent, Handre Pollard and the promising Manie Libbok but is also very comfortable at fullback where Warrick Gelant is expected to be man in the hot seat.
The Bulls are in the process of assembling a high quality squad and Pote Human’s team seem like they mean business in Super rugby this year having already acquired the services of Duane Vermeulen, Schalk Brits, Rosco Specman, Hendricks and Dylan Sage.
The Bulls play a friendly against the Stormers in Cape Town on 3 February. April will however not feature in that match.
